THE BODY!

For more than twenty years, I have been studying one question in many different forms:

**What helps a human being become fully alive?**

I first found my way into this question through the body.

Yoga taught me to listen inward.

To breathe.

To notice.

To discover that the body wasn't simply something carrying me through life.

**The body was home.**

From there, my path moved through healing, massage, energy work, meditation, movement, nature, motherhood, education, Waldorf pedagogy, human development, rites of passage, and the ancient wisdom traditions.

For a long time, these may have looked like different paths.

I don't see them that way anymore.

They have all been teaching me about **human becoming.**

How do we help a child remain connected to wonder?

How do we walk beside an adolescent as they discover who they are?

How do we inhabit our sexuality and creative life-force rather than disconnect from it?

How do we become parents without losing ourselves?

How do we meet the great transitions of adulthood?

How do we listen when the body asks us to change?

How do we balance doing with being?

And perhaps most importantly:

**How do we become more fully ourselves?**

I have come to believe that the body is central to this process.

Our bodies carry sensation, rhythm, memory, emotion, intuition, longing, creativity, boundaries and relationship.

They tell us when something gives life.

And when something takes life away.

When we learn to listen, something quieter underneath all the expectations begins to become audible.

Our own nature.

Our own rhythm.

Our own direction.

Our own particular way of being here.

I think of this as **The Embodied Star.**

Not becoming someone else.

Not endlessly improving ourselves.

Not following someone else's map of success.

But becoming increasingly able to inhabit the life that is uniquely ours.

This is the thread that connects my work with children, adolescents, parents, educators, women and adults.

It is the heart of what I call **Life-Giving Education.**

Education not simply as schooling—

but as the lifelong process of drawing forth what is already trying to become.

My work is devoted to creating spaces where we can come home to the body, consciously meet life's thresholds, remain connected to the living world, and discover what is uniquely ours to bring.

**Come home to your body.

Remember your nature.

Embody your unique star.**
